Theater Department Audition
ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS IN THE GREATER HARTFORD REGION
Greetings and Salutations -
It
is my pleasure to inform you that the Hartford Arts Center is ready to bring its long awaited Theater Department online! Many
of you are already aware of the exciting and ever-expanding new space HAC occupies on New Park Ave. It will be my privilege
to oversee the Theater Department there.
My life parallels that of many artists from this area who seek professional
training but still consider their home to be here in Hartford. Our artistic community has not diminished, it's strength
has not waned. But, as an artist, I see a gap forming between local talent and the training they seek. In an effort to bridge
that gap, our goal must be to bring together the talent in Greater Hartford and the professional trainers (both local and
foreign) they want.
The programing of this department is for all of us; young and old, novice and experienced.
There will be a place for all.
Beginning in October we will be holding a series of panel auditions. These
auditions will serve two purposes. The first, to better assess the level of talent and the level of interest held by people
in the area. The second, to place and cast willing participants in upcoming performances and simultaneous classes. As well
as to find new teachers, assistants and trainers. The auditions will be conducted by myself and a panel of experienced
local talent.
They will take place at:
Hartford Arts Center 420 New Park Ave on
Sunday October 9th.
1:00 - 3:00PM Ages 8-15
3:00 - 5:00PM Ages
16+
You may sign up for a slot on our Facebook page. Please bring something to fill 5 mins. There will
be a piano (no accompanist) and a CD/MP3 player available. Surprises are always welcome. Call backs and interviews will be
arranged shortly thereafter.
