Mayor Eddie A. Perez Support Letter
Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Artists Collective for tonightfs performance of gLe Triomphe De
LfAmourh by The Hartford City Ballet. While the dancers express gthe triumph of loveh as we approach Valentinefs Day, this
event symbolizes the revitalization and renewed love of our Capital City.
The success of this young company is a sign of how the Arts
are so vital to the vibrancy of Hartford. The diversity of this company is a reflection of our incredibly diverse population,
where more than seventy different languages are spoken. And the positive response from the community shows that this company
is living up to Hartfordfs name as gThe City of Hope and Opportunity.h
The Arts, including sold out performances by The Hartford
City Ballet, are a big reason why 240,000 new visitors came to Hartford last year alone. The Arts and cultural assets help fuel
the Capital Cityfs economy and the Statefs economy. At the same time, the Arts fill our senses with beauty, soul, and intensity.
They also inspire. Who knows, maybe in the audience tonight is the next Balanchine!
Ifm proud to say that Hartford
has one of the richest and strongest Arts and Heritage
Markets in the country. Nearly five million people attend these events
in the Greater
Hartford region every year, including performances by The Hartford City Ballet.
Bravo to The Hartford City Ballet
on such a successful first year. Like Hartford, may this company grow and prosper. Enjoy tonightfs performance.
Sincerely,
Eddie
