Solomiya Teterichko is a native of Lviv, Ukraine where she started training at the age of
five at a Ukrainian National Dance Ensemble called “Veseli Cherevichki”. After her move to the United States at
the age of eight, Solomiya received her first intense ballet training with Alla Nikitina at Premier Dance and continued her
training with Ballet Theatre Company under the directorship of Richard Steinert and Christine Duhan. With this company, Solomiya
performed the role of Clara in the Nutcracker for four years, Swan Lake’s pheasant Pas de trios, Les Sylphyds, and the
Sugar Plum Fairy Grand pas de deux. In addition to these well known works, she was able to perform many contemporary and experimental
pieces choreographed by Ms. Duhan and Mr. Steinert including Unhinge the Wind, An American in Paris, and Bach-Handed. Solomiya
continued to train privately with Christine Duhan in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 2006. She has spent her summers studying with
the American Ballet Theater, Boston Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. Through these programs, she has also
performed the “Dance of the Hours Waltz” and Zulme in Giselle. Solomiya has also continued to perform character
dance with a Hartford based ensemble “Zolotyj Promin” and with a New York based folk ensemble founded by Roma
Pryma Bohachevsky. She currently attends the University of Connecticut to receive a bachelors in Biomedical Engineering.
